Summary
CVE-2024-2794 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the EditorsKit plugin for WordPress' Gutenberg Block Editor, specifically versions up to and including 1.40.4. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the 'editorskit' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
