Summary

CVE-2024-27932 is a vulnerability affecting Deno, a JavaScript, TypeScript, and WebAssembly runtime. In versions 1.8.0 and prior to 1.40.4, Deno fails to properly check import specifier's hostnames, potentially sending tokens to unintended servers. For instance, an auth token meant for "example.com" may be mistakenly routed to "notexample.com". This issue poses a risk for users employing DENO_AUTH_TOKENS and importing potentially untrusted code. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 1.40.0, which includes a patch to rectify this issue.
