Details
Summary
CVE-2024-27317 is a vulnerability found in Apache Pulsar versions 2.4.0 to 2.10.5, 2.11.0 to 2.11.3, 3.0.0 to 3.0.2, 3.1.0 to 3.1.2, and 3.2.0, affecting both Pulsar Functions Worker and Pulsar Broker when configured with "functionsWorkerEnabled=true". Authenticated users have the ability to upload functions in jar or nar files which are then extracted by the Functions Worker; however, if a malicious file is uploaded, it can exploit a directory traversal vulnerability due to improper validation of filenames in the zip files. This could enable an attacker to create or modify files outside of the intended extraction directory, potentially impacting system behavior and posing a high risk to organizations using these vulnerable versions of Apache Pulsar products.
