Summary

CVE-2024-27294 is a vulnerability affecting the dp-golang Puppet module for Go installations prior to version 1.2.7. When Puppet is run as root and the installed package is on macOS, certain files, including the compiler binary, may be installed with incorrect ownership. The user and group specified in the Puppet code are ignored for files within the archive. This vulnerability poses a potential danger to organizations as it could allow unauthorized access or manipulation of critical resources, compromising integrity and potentially leading to further security breaches.
