Summary

CVE-2024-27087 is a vulnerability affecting Kirby, a content management system. The vulnerability occurs in the new link field introduced in Kirby 4, which allows for different types of links to be entered and validated. The "Custom" link type, meant for advanced use cases, allows the javascript: URL scheme, potentially enabling attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code when a user clicks on a link generated from the link field contents. The vulnerability has been patched in version 4.1.1 of Kirby. This vulnerability poses a medium risk with low privileges required and user interaction necessary for exploitation. It has a base severity score of 4.6 out of 10 and an impact score of 2.5 out of 10.
