Summary

CVE-2024-2688 is a vulnerability found in the EmbedPress – Embed PDF, Google Docs, Vimeo, Wistia, Embed YouTube Videos, Audios, Maps & Embed Any Documents in Gutenberg & Elementor plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 3.9.12. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages using the EmbedPress document widget. These injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the affected page. The risk score for this vulnerability is rated as medium with a base score of 5.4 out of 10. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update the plugin to version 3.1 or higher.
