Summary
CVE-2024-26178 is a newly disclosed Windows Kernel vulnerability that grants attackers elevated privileges. By exploiting this EoP (Elevation of Privilege) flaw, an attacker can gain elevated access to a system, enabling them to install malware, steal sensitive information, or modify critical configurations. The vulnerability exists in a specific Windows Kernel component, and successful exploitation requires the attacker to be logged into the system or have a valid RPC (Remote Procedure Call) connection. Microsoft is aware of the issue and has released a patch to address it.
