Summary
CVE-2024-26142 is a vulnerability affecting Rails, a widely-used web application framework, starting from version 7.1.0. This issue involves a potential ReDoS (Regular Expression Denial of Service) vulnerability in the Accept header parsing routines of Action Dispatch. If exploited, an attacker could cause the application to consume excessive resources and crash. Version 7.1.3.1 of Rails includes a patch to address this issue. Ruby 3.2, with its built-in mitigations, is not affected by this vulnerability.
