Summary

CVE-2024-26142 is a vulnerability found in Rails, a web-application framework. The vulnerability exists in the Accept header parsing routines of Action Dispatch in versions 7.1.0 to 7.1.3, and it can potentially lead to a ReDoS (Regular Expression Denial of Service) attack. The vulnerability has been patched in version 7.1.3.1 of Rails. However, Ruby 3.2 or newer versions have mitigations for this problem, so Rails applications using these versions are not affected by the vulnerability. This vulnerability has a high base severity and score, with a high availability impact if exploited over the network.
