Summary
CVE-2024-25739 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the Linux kernel version up to 6.7.4. In the file vtbl.c within the ubi driver, a function named create_empty_lvol fails to perform a necessary check on ubi->leb_size, potentially leading to an attempt to allocate zero bytes. This issue can result in a crash, posing a risk to system stability. The flaw stems from a missing validation in the kernel code, which could be exploited by malicious actors to induce a denial-of-service condition.
