Summary

CVE-2024-25128 is a vulnerability affecting Flask-AppBuilder, an application development framework built on Flask. This vulnerability allows an attacker to forge an HTTP request and deceive the backend into using any requested OpenID service when Flask-AppBuilder is set to AUTH_TYPE AUTH_OID. If the attacker deploys a custom OpenID service accessible by the backend, they can gain unauthorized privileged access. The vulnerability is only exploitable when the application uses the OpenID 2.0 authorization protocol. To remediate this issue, it is recommended to upgrade to Flask-AppBuilder 4.3.11. The vulnerability has a risk score of 65 and is rated as critical with high impact on both integrity and confidentiality.
