Summary

CVE-2024-25122 is a vulnerability in the open source project sidekiq-unique-jobs, which prevents simultaneous Sidekiq jobs with the same unique arguments. The vulnerability allows a super-user attacker or an authorized victim who receives a disguised or crafted link to execute malicious code through specially crafted GET request parameters. This could potentially lead to the theft of cookies, session data, or local storage data from the application. The affected endpoints in sidekiq-unique-jobs' "admin" web UI are `/changelogs`, `/locks`, and `/expiring_locks`. To remediate the vulnerability, users are advised to upgrade to versions 7.1.33 or 8.0.7. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability, which has a base severity of HIGH according to the CVSS 3.1 scoring system.
