CVE-2024-25109

Summary

CVE-2024-25109 is a vulnerability affecting the ManageWiki extension for MediaWiki. This extension allows users to manage wikis, but the Special:ManageWiki interface fails to properly escape interface messages on the `columns` and `help` keys on the form descriptor. An attacker could exploit this Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) weakness by injecting malicious code. To execute the attack on-wiki, an attacker requires the `(editinterface)` right. ManageWiki users are advised to apply the changes in commits `886cc6b94`, `2ef0f50880`, and `6942e8b2c` to mitigate this vulnerability. Unfortunately, there are no known workarounds to protect against this issue before applying the code changes.
