Summary

CVE-2024-24766 is a vulnerability that affects CasaOS-UserService, a user management service for CasaOS. Versions 0.4.4.3 and earlier of the Casa OS Login page have a username enumeration vulnerability, which allows an attacker to determine valid usernames by analyzing the application's response. If an incorrect username is entered, the application returns an error message stating "User does not exist," while an incorrect password triggers the message "Invalid password." This issue is fixed in version 0.4.7 of CasaOS-UserService, and organizations using earlier versions are advised to update to the latest release. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and a confidentiality impact of HIGH, making it potentially dangerous for organizations as it could facilitate unauthorized access to user accounts.
