CVSS 3.1 Score 8.8 of 10 (high)
Details
Summary
CVE-2024-2474 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Standout Color Boxes and Buttons plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 0.7.0, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's 'color-button' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. Once these pages are accessed by users, the injected scripts will execute, potentially leading to data theft, unauthorized account access, or other malicious activities.
