Summary

CVE-2024-24736 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the POP3 service in YahooPOPs (YPOPs!) version 1.6. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a long string to TCP port 110, resulting in a remote denial of service (DoS) attack. This vulnerability is related to CVE-2004-1558, which had a similar impact on the POP3 service. Yahoo is urged to release a patch to address this issue and mitigate potential DoS attacks.
