Summary
CVE-2024-23889 is a newly reported vulnerability affecting Cups Easy (Purchase & Inventory), version 1.0. The issue lies in the lack of sufficient encoding of user-controlled inputs, which leads to a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This weakness is located in the /cupseasylive/itemgroupcreate.php file, specifically in the itemgroupid parameter. An attacker can exploit this flaw by crafting a malicious URL and sending it to an authenticated user. Successful exploitation could result in the theft of the user's session cookie credentials, which could then be used for unauthorized access to the affected system.
