Summary

CVE-2024-23839 is a vulnerability in Suricata, a network Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System, and Network Security Monitoring engine. It affects versions prior to 7.0.3 and can be exploited through specially crafted traffic if the ruleset uses the http.request_header or http.response_header keyword. The vulnerability has been patched in version 7.0.3 of Suricata. To mitigate the risk, organizations should avoid using the http.request_header and http.response_header keywords.
