Summary
CVE-2024-23832 is a vulnerability affecting the Mastodon social network server. This open-source platform, which uses ActivityPub, allows for LDAP configuration for authentication. Unfortunately, Mastodon versions prior to 3.5.17, 4.0.x before 4.0.13, 4.1.x before 4.1.13, and 4.2.x before 4.2.5 do not adequately validate the origin of requests. As a result, attackers can successfully impersonate and take over any remote account, posing a significant security risk.
