Summary

CVE-2024-23831 is a vulnerability affecting LedgerSMB, a free web-based accounting system. When an administrator is actively using /setup.pl, an attacker can manipulate them into clicking a malicious link, resulting in unauthorized account creation with full application privileges. This issue permits privilege escalation. The vulnerability is mitigated by updating to LedgerSMB versions 1.10.30 or 1.11.9.
