Summary

CVE-2024-23831 is a vulnerability that affects LedgerSMB, a web-based double-entry accounting system. The vulnerability allows an attacker to trick the database administrator into clicking on a malicious link, which then automatically submits a request without the admin's consent. This can be used to create a new user account with full application privileges, leading to privilege escalation. The vulnerability has been patched in versions 1.10.30 and 1.11.9 of LedgerSMB. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can allow unauthorized access and manipulation of sensitive financial data.
