Summary

CVE-2024-23323 affects Envoy, a widely-used high-performance edge/middle/serviceproxy. The vulnerability stems from the way Envoy compiles regex expressions for each request, leading to high CPU usage and increased latency when multiple routes contain such matchers. This issue is addressed in versions 1.29.1, 1.28.1, 1.27.3, and 1.26.7, and users are strongly urged to upgrade without delay. No known workarounds exist for this vulnerability.
