Summary
CVE-2024-2188 is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability found in TP-Link Archer AX50 firmware version 1.0.11 build 2022052. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to create a port mapping rule using a SOAP request and inject a malicious JavaScript payload within that rule. When the rule is loaded, the JavaScript payload can be executed. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability of an attacker to execute arbitrary code on affected devices, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their firmware to a version that addresses the issue and regularly monitor for security updates from TP-Link.
