Summary

CVE-2024-21650 is a critical vulnerability affecting the XWiki Platform, a generic wiki platform used for applications. The vulnerability allows for remote code execution (RCE) through the user registration feature. Attackers can execute arbitrary code by crafting malicious payloads in the "first name" or "last name" fields during user registration. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations that have user registration enabled for guests. The issue has been addressed in XWiki versions 14.10.17, 15.5.3, and 15.8 RC1.
