Summary

CVE-2024-21601 is a vulnerability categorized as a Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition'). It affects Juniper Networks Junos OS versions earlier than 21.2R3-S5, 21.3R3-S5, 21.4R3-S4, 22.1R3-S3, 22.2R3-S1, 22.3R2-S2, 22.3R3, and 22.4R2-S1, 22.4R3 on SRX Series devices. Exploiting this vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS) by crashing the Flow-processing Daemon (flowd). The exploitation of this race condition is outside the attacker's direct control and can lead to sustained DoS attacks on affected systems. Juniper Networks has not provided information on how to remediate this vulnerability at the time of analysis.
