Summary
CVE-2024-21517 is a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions of the opencart/opencart package from 4.0.0.0. The issue lies in the redirect parameter of the customer account/login route, which allows an attacker to inject arbitrary HTML and Javascript into the page response. Since this vulnerability is present in the account functionality, it poses a significant risk to customers of OpenCart shops, who could be targeted and attacked. Unfortunately, the currently available fix for this vulnerability is incomplete.
