Summary

CVE-2024-21500: This vulnerability affects all versions of the github.com/greenpau/caddy-security package. It enables attackers to bypass the application's blocking mechanism for excessive authentication attempts during the two-factor authentication (2FA) process. Although the application restricts access after several failed 2FA code entries, an attacker can automate the entire multistep 2FA process to gain unauthorized access. This issue poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to evade detection and continue attempting to gain access to the affected system. It is strongly recommended that users update to the latest version of the package to mitigate this vulnerability.
