Summary

CVE-2024-20898 is a newly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerability affecting the SoftphoneClient component in the IMS (Internet Multimedia Subsystem) service. This issue arises from the use of implicit intent for sensitive communication, which can be exploited by local attackers. By exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. This issue is particularly concerning as it exists in versions of the IMS service prior to the SMR (Software Maintenance and Support) Jul-2024 Release 1.
