Summary

CVE-2024-20360 is a vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. It allows an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct SQL injection attacks on an affected system. The vulnerability occurs because the web-based management interface fails to properly validate user input. An attacker with at least Read Only user credentials could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted SQL queries to the application. If successfully exploited, the attacker can obtain data from the database, execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system, and elevate privileges to root. Multiple products are affected by this vulnerability. To remediate it, users should apply the necessary patches or updates provided by Cisco. This vulnerability poses a high danger to organizations as it could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, and potential compromise of the entire system.
