Summary
CVE-2024-20328 is a vulnerability affecting the VirusEvent feature of ClamAV. An attacker with local access can exploit this issue by supplying maliciously crafted file names containing command-line sequences. This unsafe handling of file names allows the attacker to inject arbitrary commands, utilizing the application service account's privileges. No workarounds are currently available, and ClamAV has released patches to address the vulnerability.
