Summary
CVE-2024-20318 is a vulnerability in the Layer 2 Ethernet services of Cisco IOS XR Software. It can be exploited by an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition by sending specific Ethernet frames through an affected device. This results in the line card network processor resetting and a loss of traffic over the supported interfaces. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH and poses a potential danger to organizations as it can lead to service disruptions.
