Summary

CVE-2024-20312 is a vulnerability in the Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) protocol of Cisco IOS Software and Cisco IOS XE Software. It affects multiple products including vD7lvs, i1FZ0-, i1FR0s, and jEjJS9. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker who is Layer 2-adjacent to the affected device to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition by sending a crafted IS-IS packet after forming an adjacency. The attacker can exploit this vulnerability to cause the affected device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition. The severity of this vulnerability is rated as HIGH with a base score of 7.4 according to CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H.
