Summary

CVE-2024-20307 is a vulnerability in the IKEv1 fragmentation code of Cisco IOS Software and Cisco IOS XE Software. It affects multiple products. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted UDP packets to an affected system, causing a heap overflow and resulting in the device reloading. The vulnerability can be triggered by both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic. The potential danger to an organization is a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability has a base severity of MEDIUM with a base score of 6.8 according to CVSS version 3.1.
