Summary
CVE-2024-20306 is a vulnerability identified in the Unified Threat Defense (UTD) configuration CLI of Cisco IOS XE Software. This issue permits authenticated, local attackers with level 15 privileges to execute arbitrary commands as the root user on the underlying host operating system. The vulnerability arises due to inadequate input validation, allowing an attacker to submit a specially crafted CLI command to exploit the weakness. Successful exploitation could result in significant system compromise.
