Summary

CVE-2024-20306 is a vulnerability in the Unified Threat Defense (UTD) configuration CLI of Cisco IOS XE Software. It affects multiple products, including s6eXlT, s0N7dI, s6eXlX, s0OJ4m, and others. An authenticated, local attacker with level 15 privileges on the affected device could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary commands as root on the underlying host operating system. The vulnerability is a result of insufficient input validation. To remediate this issue, it is recommended to apply the necessary security updates or patches provided by Cisco. This vulnerability poses a medium risk to organizations as it can allow attackers to gain unauthorized access and potentially compromise the integrity and confidentiality of the system.
