Summary
CVE-2024-20303 is a vulnerability in the multicast DNS (mDNS) gateway feature of Cisco IOS XE Software for Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs). It affects several products. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker could exploit this vulnerability by connecting to the wireless network and sending specific mDNS packets. This could result in a denial of service (DoS) condition by causing high CPU utilization on the wireless controller, leading to access points losing their connection to the controller. The vulnerability has a high base severity rating and can potentially pose a danger to organizations using the affected products.
