Summary

CVE-2024-20291 is a vulnerability that affects Cisco Nexus 3000 and 9000 Series Switches in standalone NX-OS mode. It allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to send traffic that should be blocked through the affected device. This vulnerability occurs due to incorrect hardware programming when configuration changes are made to port channel member ports. The potential danger of this vulnerability is that an attacker could gain unauthorized access to network resources that should be protected by an access control list (ACL) applied on port channel subinterfaces. To remediate this vulnerability, users should apply the necessary software updates provided by Cisco.
