Summary
CVE-2024-20277 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the web-based management interface of Cisco ThousandEyes Enterprise Agent, specifically the Virtual Appliance installation type. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted HTTP packet to the affected device, leading to command injection. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary commands and elevate privileges to root level, posing a significant security risk. This vulnerability arises due to insufficient input validation in the web interface. Cisco has released patches to address this issue, and it is recommended that users install them promptly to mitigate the threat.
