Summary
CVE-2024-20272 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the web-based management interface of Cisco Unity Connection. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this flaw by uploading arbitrary files to the system, potentially leading to the execution of commands on the underlying operating system. The vulnerability stems from a lack of authentication in a specific API and insufficient validation of user-supplied data. The successful exploitation could enable the attacker to store malicious files on the system, execute arbitrary commands, and elevate privileges to root.
