Summary

CVE-2024-20267 is a vulnerability in the handling of MPLS traffic for Cisco NX-OS Software, which could allow an unauthenticated attacker to cause the device to stop processing network traffic or reload. The vulnerability is caused by a lack of proper error checking when processing an ingress MPLS frame. An attacker can exploit this by sending a crafted IPv6 packet encapsulated within an MPLS frame to an MPLS-enabled interface of the targeted device. This could result in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability affects multiple Cisco products. Cisco has not provided specific remediation steps for this vulnerability at this time. The impact score for this vulnerability is 4.0 out of 10, and it has a high base severity rating of 8.6 out of 10.
