Summary

CVE-2024-20257 is a vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Secure Email Gateway. It allows an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the interface. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient validation of user input. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need to persuade a user of the affected interface to click on a crafted link. Successful exploitation could result in the execution of arbitrary script code or unauthorized access to sensitive browser-based information. This vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and requires high privileges from the attacker. The affected products include gZFHvl, J2Sqra, and gZFHvj.
