Summary
CVE-2024-1997 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Premium Addons PRO plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, as a result of insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the Messenger Chat Widget's 'premium_fbchat_app_id' parameter. Successful exploitation of this flaw enables attackers to execute their malicious code whenever a user accesses an injected page. All versions of the plugin up to, and including, 2.9.12 are vulnerable.
