Summary
CVE-2024-1987 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the WP-Members Membership Plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to and including 3.4.9.1, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin's shortcodes. Successful exploitation enables attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts on pages visited by users, potentially leading to unauthorized account access or data theft.
