Summary

CVE-2024-1894 is a vulnerability found in the Burst Statistics – Privacy-Friendly Analytics for WordPress plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 1.5.6.1. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that will execute when accessed by users, as a result of insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. It should be noted that this exploit only works if the victim has the 'Show Toolbar when viewing site' option enabled in their profile. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with a CVSS score of 6.4, indicating low impact on integrity and confidentiality, and no impact on availability.
