Summary

CVE-2024-1872 is a vulnerability found in the Button plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 1.1.28. It allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject a PHP object through deserialization of untrusted input in the button_shortcode function. If there is a POP chain present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could enable the attacker to delete files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code.
