Summary
CVE-2024-1859 is a vulnerability found in the Slider Responsive Slideshow – Image slider, Gallery slideshow plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 1.3.8, and it allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject a PHP Object through the awl_slider_responsive_shortcode function via deserialization of untrusted input. Although no known POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin, if there is a POP chain through an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could result in the deletion of arbitrary files, retrieval of sensitive data, or execution of code. The severity rating for this vulnerability is high, with a base score of 8.8 out of 10 and potential impacts on integrity and confidentiality being high as well. The exploitability score is 2.8 out of 10, indicating a relatively low level of difficulty for attackers to exploit this vulnerability.
