Summary

CVE-2024-1858 is a vulnerability found in the Lightbox slider - Responsive Lightbox Gallery plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 1.9.9 and allows for PHP Object Injection through the deserialization of untrusted input via post meta data. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability to inject a PHP Object. While no known POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin, if a POP chain is present through an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could lead to arbitrary file deletion, retrieval of sensitive data, or code execution. The risk score for this vulnerability is 25 out of 100, with a base severity rating of MEDIUM.
