Summary

CVE-2024-1810 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Archivist – Custom Archive Templates plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.7.5 are vulnerable due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'shortcode_attributes' parameter. This issue allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, potentially tricking users into clicking malicious links and executing malicious code. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to data theft, unauthorized access, or website defacement. It is recommended that users immediately update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
