Summary

CVE-2024-1802 is a vulnerability in the EmbedPress – Embed PDF, Google Docs, Vimeo, Wistia, Embed YouTube Videos, Audios, Maps & Embed Any Documents in Gutenberg & Elementor plugin for WordPress. The vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 3.9.10, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks through the plugin's Wistia embed block. This can be achieved due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the user-supplied URL. If exploited, arbitrary web scripts can be injected into pages and executed whenever a user accesses an injected page. The risk score for this vulnerability is 25 out of 100, with a base severity of MEDIUM.
