CVE-2024-1777 is a vulnerability affecting the Contact Form 7 plugin for WordPress, specifically the Admin side data storage. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate the plugin's settings through Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks. The vulnerability exists in all versions of the plugin up to and including version 1.1.1, due to missing or incorrect nonce validation in the settings update function. To remediate this vulnerability, site administrators should update the Contact Form 7 plugin to a version that includes a fix for this issue. If left unpatched, this vulnerability poses a medium-level danger to organizations as it can be exploited by tricking an administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a malicious link, potentially leading to unauthorized modifications of the plugin's settings.
