Summary

CVE-2024-1772 is a vulnerability found in the Play.ht – Make Your Blog Posts Accessible With Text to Speech Audio plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 3.6.4, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject a PHP Object through the deserialization of untrusted input from the play_podcast_data post meta. Although there is no known POP chain present in the vulnerable plugin itself, if a POP chain exists via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could potentially lead to arbitrary file deletion, retrieval of sensitive data, or code execution. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as HIGH with a CVSS score of 8.8 and poses a significant risk to organizations using this plugin.
