Summary

CVE-2024-1723 is a vulnerability found in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 1.58.7. The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Some of the affected parameters include $instance['fonts']['title_options']['tag'], $headline_tag, $sub_headline_tag, and $feature['icon']. The potential danger of this vulnerability lies in the ability for attackers to execute malicious scripts and potentially compromise the security of the WordPress site. It is recommended to update to a patched version of the plugin to remediate this vulnerability.
