Summary

CVE-2024-1591 refers to a vulnerability in Privilege Management for Windows prior to version 24.1. This issue permits a local, authenticated attacker to access the Sysvol directory when the software utilizes a Group Policy Object (GPO) policy. By gaining access to the Sysvol directory, the attacker can view the associated policy and potentially discover configuration weaknesses. This vulnerability may pose a risk to system security if sensitive information is stored within the policy. It is recommended that users of Privilege Management for Windows upgrade to version 24.1 or later to mitigate this issue.
